Assalāmu ’alaykum warahmatullāhi wa barakātuhu

Prayer is the second and greatest pillar of Islam after the testimony of faith. It is a visible proof of the belief you carry in your heart manifested in your limbs. Your prayer is the greatest act of worship that brings you closer to Allah and it is the first of your deeds that you will be brought to account for on the day of judgement. Your prayer is fundamental to your happiness and success in this life and the hereafter. Therefore, it is of absolute importance that you learn how to pray in a sound and proper manner by following the perfect example of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and adhering to his sunnah in praying in the way he prayed.

JILC Announcement

For many years, JILC has welcomed Muslims new and old, expats and locals, young and mature through the doors of its villa on Dubai’s Al Wasl Road.

However, sadly, due to a number of reasons, we are having to move away from 819 Al Wasl Road – and the future for JILC as a centre is uncertain.

For a number of previous years we have been fortunate to have had the support of generous benefactors who have been able to donate the funds required to pay the rent. This year, we struggled to find new benefactors to support us – and the impact of the COVID-19 on the wider community has only exacerbated this challenge.

JILC is facing its biggest challenge – and needs a new place to call home

As it stands today, the centre remains closed and items will be moved out in the coming days and weeks in’sha’Allah. We have secured temporary homes for our extensive library of Islamic books and Qurans, plus the majlis sofa seating that has been the location of many lecture nights, Eid breakfasts and family gatherings. Other remaining items will be donated to those in need.

Moving forward in’sha’Allah, JILC needs to find a new location and sponsors who are able to put forward the funds needed to cover the costs of rent and overheads. JILC is run mostly by volunteers, and what little funds we are able to secure is used to pay small stipends to our teaching staff of qualified teachers, Imams and Sheikhs – plus keep the lights and AC on.

For now, we will continue to run a number of sessions online. This includes our weekly New Muslim sessions with Sheikh Ayaz, who is also hosting Quran lessons for brothers. Summer Asafeerul Jannah classes for children will begin shortly in’sha’Allah. We also have our regular weekly evening lecture on Thursdays with a number of different speakers.

We hope to share our wider plan for the summer months and an integrated online platform for all these soon in’sha’Allah.

If you are in a position to help JILC – either through a financial donation, or potentially with a new location we could call home – please do not hesitate to contact us. Our WhatsApp and e-mails are always open to you.

May Allah make it easy for us all and we look forward to welcoming you to a new home for JILC soon in’sha’Allah.

Jazak’Allah khair.
